Re: Phal. Joy Spring Tina 'Anaconda' blooms

Congrats ! I hope you like this flower as much as I do. My plants always carry a seedpod whenever it flowers. As a result I don't have a large plant for display. It was well worth the wait. Recall that you hooked me up with this one after I lost out bidding on the one you had on ebay back in Dec 20...

Re: Orchidkonnection 2003

I changed computer a few times and each time I lost pictures because of no good backup. In early days I actually took time to backup pictures to CD and DVD. These days due to increased backup size, I backup to external drives and they crashed, so I lost pictures forever. And no one really knows def...

While not a book, the research team at Michigan State University has published the results of their work. You should be able to download the articles as .PDF files. http://www.hrt.msu.edu/faculty/Runkle/O ... Part_1.pdf http://www.hrt.msu.edu/faculty/Runkle/O ... Part_2.pdf http://www.hrt.msu.edu/f...

One of them gave me a couple blooms first.

Heck they even have the photo of Phal. Carol Darnell that Peter posted after he selfed it.

As best as I can recall some kind of rot overtook it during one of the summer heat waves.

Re: Phal. I-Hsin Sunflower

Yours is doing way better than mine (acquired around the same time as yours). My Sunflower transitioned to compost earlier this year. :(

I do intend to get another eventually.

Re: Wild ?

I wonder about all the tiny plantlets that also appear in the picture. Is it likely that someone also sprinkled orchid seed on the trees to give rise to the additional plants. Or did the larger plants get pollinated at some point and produce seed capsules?

Re: Engineered Blue phalaenopsis

When this thread first went up it brought to mind a common weed here in the eastern US that had always amazed me with its bright true blue little blooms. I just now bothered to google Asiatic dayflower Commelina communis, the plant used to provide the gene for the genetically-modified blue Phal, and...

Re: Numerous Delays by Post Office Priority Mail

As I understand it the only guarantee USPS makes is for their Priority Express Mail (formerly known as just Express Mail), which delivers to most places in 1 business day or your money back. Regular Priority Mail provides an *estimate* of 2 days to most US destinations, but you can get a more specif...

Re: Hiroshima Tetratris

I love, love this primary (and it's my avatar). The one I got from Peter in spring 2012 has, except for a couple weeks last December, been in continuous bloom since June 2012. The original 'used' spike it came with finally stopped blooming a couple weeks ago, but has a nice keiki at the tip that wil...
