Hi Bryan,

No problem, here we go:

http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/na ... medium.php

We have the medium sized 24” x 18” x 24” (WxDxH) - of course a little specified -we took out the mesh topping (which keeps animals from getting out) 'cause it sucks up about 30% of the light when staying in (runs below the lamps). We use three T5 bulbs with light color 865 (2x 8W + 1x 18W) and made a wooden topping so that humidity and warmth stay in - ventilation with two of the Cooler Master pc fans (you see them on the pics). In the substrate we have two heating mats (15W + 7W) and temperatures over the day ~24°C and in the night ~17°C. The orchids seem to love it :D

And this is what we're going to buy next (for holidays ;) ) as soon as it's available in Germany (should be already on the market in the US)

Thank's Adrienne, Brian & Didier :D

Today we want to make an update on the improvements and technical equipment we added.

During the first month we only watered manually - with a pressure sprayer filled with r/o water and fertilizer. Summer holidays came closer and we needed to think about watering the orchids in the vivarium during our abscence. When leaving home for a few days we asked our daughter to do this for us. But summer holidays were planned for all the three of us.

We checked several systems and prizes and finally got "Lucky Reptile Super Rain".

Image

There are three nozzles inside, two on the left...

Image

...and one on the right side

Image

Under the vivarium there is a storage container containing 5l of r/o water nourished with fertilizer.

Image

To be able to easily check temperature and humidity we got two sensors with digital displays sitting on top, sensors inside of course ;)

Image

This is how it looks like when it is raining :D

Image

The whole technical equipments is controlled / managed via an usb programmable electrical socket. The timers are set via USB and a Netbook. We set on/off times for heating, light, ventilation and rain.

Image

We've got four sockets which are programmable....

Image

...and these are kind of screenshots of the programming software

When we're at home we still water the orchids manually around 11 a.m. and to increase humidity a bit we run the "Super Rain" for about 15 seconds after returning home from work in the early evening hours.

We are thinking about probably adding one or two more nozzles - but altogether we are really content with it.
